Don’t Miss “Merry & Bright!” Fireworks Show!

Chances are if you’re reading this, you know that Christmas is a special time to visit Dollywood. The most wonderful time of the year is on display in full force as you walk through the holiday wonderland that is the Smoky Mountain Christmas festival. Between the five million lights, iconic holiday shows and seasonal overlays there really are so many unique experiences this time of year.

Last year, Dollywood added to the already loaded number of offerings for the festival by having a firework display at the end of the night on select days. Well, the term “back by popular demand” was taken quite literally, as the show returned for the 2021 celebration with a few upgrades. The most major of which, is that this show is no longer on “select nights” but runs every single operating day.

When you visit Dollywood, you’ll hear multiple announcements about the show while roaming the park. They can be easy to miss in the hustle and bustle of a jam-packed visit. So, here’s what you need to know about the show to help you plan your viewing before you visit.

The “Merry & Bright!” fireworks show is a sparkling firework display set to festive holiday music. Families can dance and sing along to their favorite Christmas music as a twinkling, synchronized display shimmers above.

The show will run at 9 p.m. each operating day during the Smoky Mountain Christmas festival. Delays and cancellations are possible due to inclement weather.
The park closes at 9 p.m., so Dollywood is sending you off with a bang!

Joshua Sauer is a local East Tennessean who has always referred to Dollywood as his second home. Being the youngest of his family, he always wanted to play with the “big kids” at the park. His favorite childhood memory is when he was finally tall enough to ride Thunderhead. He is a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee and a rather loud fan of the Big Orange. Growing up beside Norris Lake, Joshua prefers to be on water when he is not riding a roller coaster. His favorite non-Dollywood hobbies include: spending time with his fiancée, water skiing, wearing orange and refusing to grow up even a little bit.
