Your July 2021 Calendar for Dollywood

Summer is a great time to visit Dollywood and the Great Smoky Mountains! The kids are out of school and there is fun for the whole family at Dollywood Parks & Resorts. Plan your visit to Dollywood and make sure to add all the festivals, live music, and water rides to your July 2021 calendar. Whether you are in town for a few days or signing up for a Season Pass, you will never run out of fun ideas and things to do this summer at Dollywood. Here are the top 12 things you must add to your July 2021 calendar when planning your trip to Dollywood:

Summer Celebration at Dollywood

Every season brings an exciting festival at Dollywood and Summer Celebration offers fun and laughter for the whole family! No matter what day you visit Dollywood in July, you will be treated to extended park hours so you can ride roller coasters and water slides all day and late into the evening! Dollywood’s Summer Celebration also wraps up each evening with a musically-choreographed display of fireworks and drone show for 2021! Dollywood’s Sweet Summer Nights is a stunning addition to the festival that involves hundreds of drones creating 3D animations into the night sky above Dollywood.

Dollywood’s Splash Country

You absolutely can’t miss a trip to Dollywood’s Splash Country, the water park next door to Dollywood theme park. USA Today voted Splash Country among the top 10 outdoor water parks in the whole country! There are water rides for visitors of all ages and attractions to suit daydreamers and thrill-seekers alike. This park is surrounded by a stunning view of the Great Smoky Mountains, which makes the most unique backdrop for fun in the sun all day long. Race your friends and family as you slide down exciting waterslides, enjoy the laughs and splashes of the raft rides and wind down with a float along the lazy river.

Too Hot Tuesdays

Look for a live DJ spinning all the best songs on Tuesdays at Dollywood’s Splash Country’s wave pool. Sing along as you float and jump the waves in this giant 25,000 square-foot pool! Too Hot Tuesday features beach tunes, pop, hip hop, R&B, and – of course! – Dolly Parton songs! This live DJ event occurs from noon until 3 p.m., so cool off during the heat of the day in the wave pool or enjoy a delicious lunch while listening to songs that will have you singing, dancing and swimming along.

Splash Bash LIVE

Live bands entertain water park guests with Splash Bash LIVE every Saturday in July. Splash Bash LIVE begins the 4th of July weekend with live bands like Flashback Band and K-Town so you can enjoy some tunes while floating in the wave pool. Groups of different genre take the stage every Saturday at noon throughout July, so grab a float and settle in for fun tunes and sing along to the classics. You can also grab lunch and hang out under one of the canopies around the wave pool to enjoy the live music.

Daredevil Falls

Dollywood includes a few water rides of its own! Perhaps one of the most popular attractions at Dollywood is Daredevil Falls. Don’t get too comfortable as you float along in this long flume ride, because before you know it, you’ll be speeding down a 60-foot drop and making a huge splash! Daredevil Falls is a great ride to cool off on a hot day and you are bound to get splashed and even soaked!

Smoky Mountain River Rampage

Smoky Mountain River Rampage offers another fun wet-and-wild ride at Dollywood. Experience a thrilling white water rafting excursion through a series of twists, turns and dips that might splash some and soak others. Climb aboard a round boat and hang on tight as you spin around and splash right through waterfalls and rapids.

Wildwood Creek

A family trip to Dollywood in July wouldn’t be complete without visiting Wildwood Creek in Wildwood Grove! Kids and adults of all ages enjoy the splashes of Wildwood Creek where you can wade into the shallow waters and cool off. Don’t miss the scenic waterfall that sources the creek and makes for a lovely backdrop for a family photo. There are also several shady spots to rest and relax!

Wings of America Bird Show

Whether or not you are visiting over the 4th of July, the Wings of America Birds of Prey Show is a must-see! This show features the national bird of the United States, the American Bald Eagle, as well as a flock of other majestic creatures like eagles, falcons, owls, hawks and even vultures. This open-air spectacular includes animals from nearby Eagle Mountain Sanctuary, which you can also visit for more up-close views and interactions!

Be sure to add Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country to your July 2021 calendar for a fun-filled vacation that will provide you with tons of memories and laughs for years to come!

About the Author:

While he is originally from Gate City, Virginia, Wes Ramey has long considered Dollywood and the Smoky Mountains region his second home. Many weekends of the year, he would travel with his parents and grandparents to the Smokies to enjoy some his favorite attractions in the area, including the Space Needle, the Gatlinburg Sky Lift, go karts, and of course, Dollywood. Based on his love as a three-year-old for Dollywood’s Convoy ride (there is a picture on his desk), Wes first told his parents he wanted to become a truck driver when he grew up. He also enjoyed the Flooded Mine because: A.) it was the only ride his mamaw was brave enough to ride, and B.) she was usually scared halfway through! When Wes isn’t working to tell people about the awesome things you can do at Dollywood with your family (scaring your grandparents doesn’t count), he enjoys spending time with his wife Lyndsey and young children. Most of his days are filled with reading Imagination Library books and baking imaginary cupcakes for tea parties, but when he has time, he enjoys anything with wheels and an engine. While Wes doesn’t own his own race car (yet), he does enjoy watching the professionals do their thing each week. For now, he fulfills his need for speed on Lightning Rod, Thunderhead, Wild Eagle and the Rockin’ Roadway!
