Attention, 2020 Season Passholders!

As we near closer to summer, there are a lot of things to which we can look forward! Temperatures are on the rise, kids are out of school, the anticipation builds for fun at Dollywood (including that cool drone show which begins June 25), and everyone starts to make their summer bucket lists.

For 2020 Dollywood Season Passholders, something else also happens this June—June 15, to be exact. Because of the late season start in 2020 due to the pandemic, 2020 Season Pass validity was extended from Jan. 2, 2021 to June 15, 2021. We wanted to provide you with a full season of fun, and allowing your pass to stay valid until one year from the 2020 opening made the most sense.

With that said, if you haven’t taken advantage of the offers to extend your pass and make it a 2021 Season Pass, here are a few reasons you might want to do so.

Unlimited Summer Visits

First of all, you get to experience everything that takes place at Dollywood the rest of this summer and fall. As you know, summer is an awesome time to visit the park, but this year there is something new you will want to see—a new show featuring hundreds of drones in a Dollywood-exclusive event. As seen at some of the biggest events around the world, the drones—which are accented by a musically-choreographed fireworks show— create a visual experience unlike anything you’ve seen anywhere in the region; it really is going to be something to see. The drones will paint the night sky above Dollywood with stunning animations and superior storytelling to create something that I guarantee every member of the family is going to think is pretty cool.

As part of the half-a-million-dollar production, a hyped DJ and energetic dancers bring the fun to the streets in Wildwood Grove and make guests part of the action during a 30-minute party that ensures every member in the family is on their feet. As the dancing nears its finale, the party takes to the sky when the drones launch into the air for an unforgettable end to the evening.

Unlimited Fall Visits

Later in the season, Dollywood’s Harvest Festival presented by Humana (Sept. 24-Oct. 30)—named by readers of USA Today as the best theme park harvest event in the world—provides bushels of fun thanks to everyone’s favorite Smoky Mountain tradition, Dollywood’s Great Pumpkin LumiNights presented by Covenant Health. Dollywood stays open late each evening, giving families more time to enjoy the glow of thousands of carved pumpkins throughout the park. During the day, guests can expect a packed entertainment schedule, with hundreds of performances across several genres occurring during the festival. Season Passes for 2022 will go on sale to the general public in time for the Smoky Mountain Christmas festival.

Best Rates

Second, you currently are considered a 2020 Season Passholder if you haven’t extended. If the pass is not extended through the end of the 2021 season—thus making it a 2021 pass—you won’t be considered a current Passholder when pre-season renewal pricing goes into place for 2022 Season Passes. As we roll out each year’s Season Passes, we provide our current Season Passholders the best possible rate before the passes go on sale to the general public. Again, these rates are only available to current Season Passholders. Once your pass lapses in 2020, you are no longer a current Season Passholder.

Bring-a-Friend Tickets

Additionally, you will miss out on extra Bring-a-Friend passes which are normally provided to our current Season Passholders who renew for the upcoming season. While we’re still determining what the Season Passholder package for 2022 contains, there will be Bring-a-Friend tickets that won’t be eligible for those who don’t hold 2021 passes.

Longer Payment Plans

Finally, current Season Passholders are eligible for longer-term payment plan options should they desire to use one. These plans let you divide your payment over a much longer period and are a convenient option for many of our Passholders. The longest of these payment plans is only available to our current Passholders.

Again, there is a lot to enjoy this season and there are even more reasons to be part of our Season Passholder family!

About the Author:

While he is originally from Gate City, Virginia, Wes Ramey has long considered Dollywood and the Smoky Mountains region his second home. Many weekends of the year, he would travel with his parents and grandparents to the Smokies to enjoy some his favorite attractions in the area, including the Space Needle, the Gatlinburg Sky Lift, go karts, and of course, Dollywood. Based on his love as a three-year-old for Dollywood’s Convoy ride (there is a picture on his desk), Wes first told his parents he wanted to become a truck driver when he grew up. He also enjoyed the Flooded Mine because: A.) it was the only ride his mamaw was brave enough to ride, and B.) she was usually scared halfway through! When Wes isn’t working to tell people about the awesome things you can do at Dollywood with your family (scaring your grandparents doesn’t count), he enjoys spending time with his wife Lyndsey and young children. Most of his days are filled with reading Imagination Library books and baking imaginary cupcakes for tea parties, but when he has time, he enjoys anything with wheels and an engine. While Wes doesn’t own his own race car (yet), he does enjoy watching the professionals do their thing each week. For now, he fulfills his need for speed on Lightning Rod, Thunderhead, Wild Eagle and the Rockin’ Roadway!
