Flower & Food Festival Dining Pass

I don’t know about you, but I enjoy eating. Luckily for me, I work at a place that is well known for its culinary offerings. In fact, it kind of makes it hard to actually get work done because I really just want to stop and eat. But I also know I can’t do that because, well…work. When I can take the time to eat (or when I bring my family and visit as a guest), I make time to enjoy the great food. Which is why I’m excited about this blog and why my stomach is rumbling. Writing this before lunch was not a smart idea.

If you’re a foodie, or if you just enjoy partaking in some really great grub looking for things to do this spring, let me introduce you to the Flower & Food Festival. “Food” is in the actual name of the festival, so you know the culinary team is going to put some hard work into the menu for this one. The culinary experience of every festival is unique and quite tasty, but they are really dialing it up for this year.

And the thing I’m most excited about? They are introducing the new Flower & Food Festival Dining Pass, which allows you to choose five different meals to enjoy during the festival. This is the first time we’ve been able to offer a dining pass like this one, and it is something I hope continues.

Here’s how it works. The dining pass comes attached to a lanyard and is available for $29.99 plus tax (or $27.99 plus tax for Season Passholders). The passes go on sale online today and are available through the run of the festival (June 7). They are valid any day during the Flower & Food Festival, which begins on April 23.

You may purchase the pass online or at the park, but if you plan to purchase online, you must do so at least 24 hours in advance. When you purchase online, you also will need to select the date you plan to use the pass. A limited number of passes will be available online, so if you want one, you may want to purchase early. You can also purchase the pass as part of a special package at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa or at Dollywood’s ticket booths. If you purchase in any of these ways, you will receive a voucher that you will redeem for the dining pass lanyard at our TimeSaver Reservation Center.

Select culinary locations inside the park also will offer the lanyard. If you purchase at any of these locations, you will receive the dining pass upon purchase. Regardless of how you purchase the pass, one thing is for sure, you’ll have a number of culinary creations to enjoy. Remember, you can choose any five meals at the eligible Flower & Food Festival culinary locations. You can redeem all five meals at one place or at a combination of locations. You decide!

To make you salivate, here is a sampling of just some of the items that will be offered during the festival, along with their descriptions:

Cuban Sandwich with Plantain Chips

This Cuban Sandwich is piled high with marinated mojo pork, Virginia ham, Swiss cheese and is grilled until the bread is golden brown. Served with a side of plantain chips and mango salsa, this is the picture of perfection!

Fish & Chips with Malt Vinegar Reduction

One of our most popular new dishes, this is a classic combo of lightly-breaded flounder filets dipped in our seasoned flour mix, fried until golden and served with a side of crispy fries.

Mountain Paella

Our version of paella includes a flavorful combination of Valencian rice, chorizo sausage and shrimp. This aromatic dish smells as good as it tastes!

Lobster Roll

Maine lobster meat and crabmeat tossed with diced celery, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and seasonings - served on a split-top frankfurter roll grilled with butter and celery seed. Served with salt & vinegar chips.

Beef Bulgogi Nachos

These unique nachos feature marinated steak strips in a traditional spicy and sweet South Korean sauce and served on crispy fried wonton chips. The nachos are drizzled with a sriracha crema and bulgogi crema and topped with green onions and alfalfa sprouts.

Flower & Food Festival Flatbread Pizza

This delicious flatbread pizza features mascarpone cheese and pesto sauce and is topped with arugula, artichoke hearts and prosciutto ham which has been drizzled in a light balsamic dressing. Edible flower petals serve as garnish on top!

Blueberry & Blackberry Mini Funnel Cake

Just for the Flower & Food Festival, enjoy our famous funnel cake topped with fresh blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and Chantilly cream. It is drizzled with lavender honey and an edible orchid.

Paletas

These tasty frozen treats feature fresh natural fruit, water, milk and condensed milk for a cool and refreshing afternoon treat!

Lemon Curd & Blueberry Liege Waffle

Unlike their Belgian counterparts, Liege waffles are rounded, thicker and contain pockets of sugar within their crispy edges. This waffle is topped with lemon curd, blueberries, Chantilly cream, blueberry honey and edible flowers!

Liege Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich

A unique Flower & Food Festival treat is this Liege waffle dipped in chocolate and chopped pistachios then filled with your choice of ice cream.

About the Author:

While he is originally from Gate City, Virginia, Wes Ramey has long considered Dollywood and the Smoky Mountains region his second home. Many weekends of the year, he would travel with his parents and grandparents to the Smokies to enjoy some his favorite attractions in the area, including the Space Needle, the Gatlinburg Sky Lift, go karts, and of course, Dollywood. Based on his love as a three-year-old for Dollywood’s Convoy ride (there is a picture on his desk), Wes first told his parents he wanted to become a truck driver when he grew up. He also enjoyed the Flooded Mine because: A.) it was the only ride his mamaw was brave enough to ride, and B.) she was usually scared halfway through! When Wes isn’t working to tell people about the awesome things you can do at Dollywood with your family (scaring your grandparents doesn’t count), he enjoys spending time with his wife Lyndsey and young children. Most of his days are filled with reading Imagination Library books and baking imaginary cupcakes for tea parties, but when he has time, he enjoys anything with wheels and an engine. While Wes doesn’t own his own race car (yet), he does enjoy watching the professionals do their thing each week. For now, he fulfills his need for speed on Lightning Rod, Thunderhead, Wild Eagle and the Rockin’ Roadway!
