Dollywood Early Ride Times 2021

There are lots of reasons to purchase a Dollywood Season Pass. Usually those reasons fall into one of two categories: the money-saving, pragmatic reasons or the fun benefits reasons. Because I think the financials speak for themselves, today, I want to focus on a key benefit Season Passholders enjoy: Early Ride Time, or ERT.

On Saturdays during Dollywood’s operational season, the park opens an hour early just for Season Passholders and Dollywood lodging guests. Each time, there’s an attraction (or an area!) that is open specifically for our most-loyal guests to enjoy. Dollywood’s Splash Country does this, too! I’ll share that schedule with you as we get closer to the water park’s opening, but right now let’s take a look at Dollywood’s schedule and help you build that list of things to do this summer.

Remember, Passholders (and lodging guests) get the whole park to themselves for a season preview on March 12. When Dollywood opens to the general public on March 13, the first hour (from 9 – 10 a.m.) is reserved for Passholders. For an hour, they get the run of Wildwood Grove including Dragonflier and five other attractions before the rope drops for everyone else!

This perk should appeal to everyone because it really gives you the opportunity to ride (and re-ride) your favorites without waiting as you would during regular park hours. If you take advantage of Dollywood’s Early Ride Time, you can ride high-thrill attractions like Lightning Rod (April 17, May 15, June 19, July 24, Sept. 4, Oct. 9) and/or family attractions like Smoky Mountain River Rampage (May 29 and July 17).

I love when you can take advantage of an entire land like Wildwood Grove (March 13, July 3, Aug. 21, Sept. 25) and Country Fair (April 24 and Oct. 2). Even Rockin’ Roadway (May 1) is on the schedule this year!

And, notice that when your family is split with people who want to ride the attractions that give you the adrenaline rush (ahem, my husband) and people who don’t (my kindergartner, preschooler and me!) we could come enjoy both Drop Line and Whistle Punk Chaser (June 5).

We’re still working on the Christmas schedule, but go ahead and take a look at March through October now and make your plans to arrive early!
