You know when you’re on a high following a great success? That’s how our Dollywood’s Splash Country team is feeling right now. They opened our water park in record time (just a few weeks after getting the green light during a pandemic), and they received top scores for cleanliness and guest satisfaction throughout the season.
Oh, and our Aquatics Team received EXCEEDS on all three Ellis & Associates audits (including not one, but TWO Golden Guard awards) as well as the water park’s Culinary Team rolled out a brand-new Dining Pass option for guests.
That’s a lot to celebrate, but rather than resting on their laurels, this team is hard at work planning for guests who are looking for things to do this summer. Would you like a sneak peek? I anticipated you would, so I ran over to the water park to get the scoop.
Before you walk through the gate, you can see projects underway. The entry experience will have a fresh, updated look—new wood and shingles have already been replaced!
The next thing to catch my eye was bridge work. Dollywood’s Splash Country has two bridges guests cross as people float by on the lazy river below. I found out that both bridges will be updated to resemble the aesthetics of Wildwood Grove at Dollywood. I love that our mountain water park only gets better with age.
Several of the buildings’ tin roofs will get a fresh coat of paint to brighten the park atmosphere.
And, when I went to see what was going on in the bathrooms by the Hospitality booth at the front, I found the flooring has already been stripped and prepped for new material to be put down. This is a very busy spot as it’s often a hub for people to stop as they arrive or as they’re leaving, so guests are sure to enjoy the updates here. The other bathrooms are getting the same attention, too!
This is the visible evidence of what’s happening right now in advance of next season, but I can tell you there’s a lot more (tangible and intangible) planning going on. Our water park crew will work hard to ensure 2021 is the best season yet!
