As we are now a couple weeks into the New Year and reflecting on the previous year, 2019 brought many new and exciting aspects to Dollywood. We LOVE being a part of our guests’ fun and memorable moments.
Spring: We started the 2019 season with our Festival of Nations. This festival is all about celebrating diversity and culture. Passport to Food returned for 2019 and was a fun element to explore cuisine from across the globe.
In April, our little feathered friend hatched at Dollywood’s Eagle Mountain Sanctuary. Awohali was then released a few months later by the American Eagle Foundation. Recently, the eagle was spotted in an Ohio national park.
Wildwood Grove: Wildwood Grove is our largest expansion ever. This new area adds 11 new attractions to Dollywood and countless memories for our guests (and us!).
The amount of character and attention to detail here is truly captivating.
Summer: This time of year is filled with more sunlight, lots of splashes and nightly fireworks. For 2019, Wildwood Grove brought even more splashes with Wildwood Creek.
A summer favorite at Dollywood is the nightly firework display. I have to say, this view with The Wildwood Tree is gorgeous!
Summer isn’t complete without splashing at Dollywood’s Splash Country. Last season included new experiences for our water park like Picnic in the Park and Splash Bash Live.
Fall: It’s no surprise that Great Pumpkin LumiNights was again a big hit. In fact, it was even voted the 2019 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Best Theme Park Halloween Event!
The fall colors just add to the park’s natural beauty during this time of year.
Christmas: Our Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival is the time to walk through the winter wonderland that is Glacier Ridge with your loved ones and soak in the holiday spirit while watching “Christmas in the Smokies.” We added even more lights in 2019 by expanding Glacier Ridge into Wildwood Grove.
You can’t discount the beauty of Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa during Christmas—it is so warm and inviting throughout the holiday season.
More fun things: From introducing the delicious Fruity Pebbles Funnel Cake to soaking up some Smoky Mountain air, we want to give a huge thanks to our guests for spending time with us last year. Here’s to another spectacular year and our 35th anniversary season!
P.S. You’re going to want to plan a visit during the new Flower & Food Festival. I have a sneaking suspicion there will be a ton of vibrant photo opportunities for your 2020 IG feed. 😉
