Dollywood saw a lovely dusting of snow this morning. While we are located in the foothills of the mountains, snow in November is a bit unusual for us in East Tennessee. In fact, I can’t remember accumulation this early in recent memory.
Last night, I left the office without a jacket enjoying temperatures in the 60s. [For context of our mild temperatures, the average high for this time of year is 62 degrees with the average low being 42.] Then when my alarm went off this morning, there was snow!
As you can imagine with temps in the 60s yesterday, the roads were only wet.
The temperature swing and subsequent precipitation makes for some great pictures. And the best part for us—it didn’t affect any operations. Dollywood was already scheduled to be closed today. We’ll be ready to greet you with more Smoky Mountain Christmas cheer tomorrow!
Don’t these pictures make you want to grab your ear muffs and get to Dollywood to enjoy the holiday spirit?!
