NEW Festival Coming This Spring!

Dollywood’s 35th anniversary season will include a brand new springtime festival! This “budding” new event, the Flower & Food Festival (May 8-June 14), features brilliant splashes of spring color with numerous vibrant displays of expertly-manicured flowers and plants created by tremendously-talented horticulturists. It will bloom with fun and discovery around every corner thanks to a number of iconic displays.

In partnership with the internationally-acclaimed Mosaicultures flower sculpting team, Dollywood will create living, larger-than-life sculptures including a butterfly umbrella, a depiction of Dolly’s mother quilting the Coat of Many Colors, various animal scenes and beautiful environmental imaginations such as flower “carpet.” You will even find interactive displays throughout the area. I’m perhaps most excited about what promises to be a stunning visual element that will greet guests on Showstreet, as hundreds of colorful umbrellas are suspended above the pathway creating a dazzling “umbrella sky.”

Flower and Food Festival will add nearly half-a-million plants and flowers throughout Dollywood. I’ve heard flower-sculpting teams will work on scenes including Smoky Mountain turtles, raccoons, frogs and black bears. And, you’ll notice Dolly’s rich influence blooming in topiary tributes to “I Will Always Love You” with a floral heart umbrella and to “Coat of Many Colors” with a brilliant butterfly and a marvelous scenic sculpture of her mother sewing that precious coat. Just like Dolly, these topiaries will be larger than life – measuring 10-15 feet tall!

In addition to the beautiful flowers and landscaping, a wide-selection of culinary creations that take inspiration from spring in the Smokies will delight your taste buds! Featured items include spring beef over crispy potatoes, heirloom tomato and feta cheese galette, savory lime chicken legs over rice pilaf, and caprese skewers with a balsamic reduction. And, specialty drink options will include pink watermelon lemonade slushy, rose lemon spritzer and fresh violet slushy.

The plans have been in development for a few years—we can’t wait for you to see it bloom to life! Mark your calendars now because this will be a MUST-EXPERIENCE event you should add to your list of things to do this spring that only Dollywood could dream up.
