I get to hang out with this fun team at Dollywood’s Splash Country. It’s a perk of the job.
These folks work hard year-round to give our guests the best possible pool day memories. They love guest feedback because it helps them make plans with you in mind. What they accomplish in the off-season is worth bragging about, so I’m going to do that—and in the process, give you a sneak peek into what you will find at our water park in 2019.
Let’s start from your walk into Dollywood’s Splash Country. The self-serve ticket kiosks are now more visible and accessible. I always encourage guests to buy tickets in advance, but if you want to purchase in-person, this is the quickest way to do it!
After you pass through the gate, there’s a lovely new sign—great for that proof picture mom always wants to grab. If there’s not a picture at the sign, did it really happen??
For those who like to spectate at the bottom of TailSpin Racer, you’ll feel like there’s a little more room to watch for your favorite racers. Our team moved the fence back toward Big River Pavilion—opening up more grassy space to enjoy.
Everything always feels fresher with a good pressure wash and new coat of paint. Look for the new color schemes around the park—the first you may notice is the big building with TimeSaver H2O and Retreat and Canopy rentals on the right.
You’re going to love this: there are 26 new picnic tables and 37 new shade umbrellas throughout Splash Country.
Speaking of shade, there’s more queue line shade this year. You’re looking at the top of Wild River Falls.
And, staying with the shady theme, ALL shade structures around the wave pool now have tin roofs—sunlight won’t be getting through that! This will provide 1200 square feet of newly shaded space in this area!
Okay, let’s talk about food. There’s good news and good news 😉 You’re not losing any of your favorites AND there are some new-comers you’re going to love.
-Berries N Cream is moving to the wave pool deck and also will now include iced coffee and fruit smoothies! [berries n cream pic] -Trailhead Tacos will move to the old Watering Hole location. You can choose from tacos and what Watering Hole offered.
-Picnic in the Park is a new food venue that will move into the old Berries N Cream location. Picnic in the Park will offer grab-and-go options. You’ll be able to order this in advance of your visit so that it’s ready when you are! As a mom, I’m very excited about this. (More on this to come in a future blog.)
Additionally, the Dollywood’s Splash Country team has been planning some opportunities you’re going to love.
-Every Saturday, our Season Passholders will now have TWO attractions to enjoy during early entry.
-The cornhole tournament is returning on June 1. Sign up your team now!
-There will be nine weeks of live music (Saturdays through July and August).
The countdown is on! We can’t wait to see you then!
