What You Should Know about Preview Night for Great Pumpkin LumiNights

It sure is great to be a Dollywood Season Passholder.

Current Dollywood Passholders and Super Passholders have the opportunity to experience Great Pumpkin LumiNights before the festival opens to the public!

This special event invites our Passholder family to explore the newly-augmented footprint—twice as large as Great Pumpkin LumiNights was last season! And you know we like to have a few surprises along the way. Here’s what you need to know about the event this year.

This special preview is for Passholders, our lodging guests, and invited media only—which means a smaller crowd and shorter lines!

If you have your heart set on attending, but you aren’t a Passholder, you have the option to purchase a 2018 Season Pass at the gate. This still makes sense if you can visit a couple times during our Harvest Festival (Sept. 28- Nov. 3) because two visits will pay for itself! Otherwise, I’d encourage you to purchase a Season Pass during our Smoky Mountain Christmas celebration (Nov. 10- Jan. 5) because it includes unlimited visits during this Christmas season AND all next year. If you choose to wait to buy a Season Pass in November, you won’t be able to join us for this Preview Night.

Another option is to book a room at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa or in one of Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Cabins for the night of Sept. 27 and you would be included!

Preview Night is Thursday, Sept. 27 from 6-10 p.m. Gates will open at 6 p.m.

Parking is FREE! Yes, even if you don’t have a Gold Pass, parking fees are waived for this special event!

Look for special offers like a $5 souvenir photo. Be sure to pick up the coupon at the SmartBank booth as you enter the park. There will be PLENTY of photo options with characters or in front of a fall vignette—your choice! Just find the photo hosts to help you.

Remember that the purpose of Preview Night is for you to experience Great Pumpkin LumiNights. That means, this will be the only area of the park that will be open. But, when I say “the only area” also know that it’s a pretty good size. Check out this footprint! There’s enough to see and do to keep you busy for a while. Traffic will be able to start and exit at either end. You can travel up through Craftsman’s Valley to get started and leave through Timber Canyon, or vice versa!
